The Samford University community is saddened by news of the closure of Birmingham-Southern College. We deeply empathize with the leadership, trustees and entire Birmingham-Southern family in this incredibly difficult situation. Samford stands ready to assist the impacted students who seek to continue their academic pursuits.

Samford University is included in a teach-out agreement with Birmingham-Southern College and is committed to partnering with Birmingham-Southern students during this time of transition to ensure they can continue to receive an excellent education. Accordingly, Samford is expediting all Birmingham-Southern applicants, and will work with accepted students on an individual basis to create a competitive financial aid package based on available funding and student eligibility with the goal that net tuition will be the same or less.

Any Birmingham-Southern student interested in transferring to Samford will have waived application fees and deadlines, and suspension of on-campus housing requirements. Additionally, Samford will accept all earned credits from Birmingham-Southern, including credits BSC accepted as transfer from other institutions.

Interested Birmingham-Southern College students can find detailed information regarding transfer options by visiting Samford Transfer Students. Samford’s admissions counselors are also available for assistance to ensure the best possible outcome for students.

Samford University also offers summer courses available for all enrolled students, including a three-week May Term, a variety of summer terms including a 14-week term, and online studies options. Please visit Undergraduate Summer Sessions for more information on summer course options or Samford Online Programs.
